My father and I enjoyed very much our stay in Rua hotel. We had a clean and spacious room facing the beach. We could hear the sound of the waves at night. The mattress is very comfortable there is hot water with good pressure and the AC works perfectly although we did not used at night since it is not needed. The hotel is in a quite area and has a nice swimming pool. The beach near by can be walked with low tide. The hotel is in a great location to explore the area around.

Rua Beach Resort has a new manager so ignore any bad review from the past. It is now run by Antonio a lovely Italian man who is great to chat with. For a few months hes been putting his energy into bringing the resort to a higher level and the results are for sure visible.We stayed in a beach front room and we loved everything about it It was very spacious nicely decorated and spotless clean. The garden of the property is big and well taken care of there are two big swimming pools to relax by.Unfortunately we stayed for only one night however the home made pasta we ate for dinner was delicious. The breakfast was very good too.In my opinion it is one of the best resorts to stay at in West Sumba.

Unfortunately it is not worth the money you pay. It was supposedly a beach view room while no view the view is actually garden view. The staff is very young and inexperienced which would be okay if they are guided by some senior staff. We were not told about any activities how the resort works there is no coffee to drink. Overall disappointment and not recommended while still one of the cheapest options in South west Sumba at that time. New owner is working on changes but it is miles away from a pleasant stay.

I had a nice stay here. The food is excellent the views are breathtaking and the staff is nice and accommodating. This is a charming and humble stay for those who think Bali is overcrowded. The internet connection is always an issue but they are working on it because the island has improved in recent years. The bonus is you can sit under billions of stars and gazing at milky way every night.

We had a great time. The bungalow was Nice the pool was relaxing and the owner was making sure we were taking care of. The food is a bit more expensive but very Nice Try the home made pasta or the fish

Rua Beach Resort in its category is one of the bests. The owner Antonio is a super hospitable guy who seemingly cares about the guests the place and his employeeslocal community as well.The place itself is very calm so close to the beach that you can hear the sounds of the waves. The rooms are extremely clean simply but tastefully furnished and decorated. Where we stayed (deluxe room) was so well built that no animals were sneaking in (Ive been living in Indonesia for 8 years and I often struggle with this wherever I travel). The garden is beautiful and the pool is nice and clean as well.One of the highlights of the stay was the food Antonio as being a real Italian doesnt compromise when it comes to properly made meals. They have homemade bread fresh pasta salads fish chicken etc. The menu is not long but they use very fresh ingredients and the tastes are amazing. Very rare at a homestay style resort which makes Rua Beach Resort truly a gem. As a European I highly recommend this place to stay at in Sumba if you are looking for a cheaper option than the luxury hotels but dont want to compromise with hygiene and good food.

Great quiet location away from everything but a small fishing village. Very friendly staff reasonable food and a beach on your doorstep. Locals and staff are very approachable lots of smiles and hellos wherever you go here. Relaxing and tranquil setting. WiFi is ok Im shared spaces but not available from rooms and rooms do not have ocean views which is a pity. All in all a great choice if you want quiet

Rooms needs be refreshed and water from tap in bathroom had a weird metal smell. Food was good particularly pasta from Italian nice owner Antonio. His wife should train to say hello and smile to customers. The staff is friendly but dont speak English so sometimes a little difficult.
